1
general

A Cash Improvement Proposal (CHIP) documents a proposed Bitcoin Cash protocol change, application standard, or ecosystem process. A detailed CHIP normally states its motivation, specification, alternatives, implementation work, test cases, risks, and stakeholder feedback.

2
process

CHIPs support public review and coordination; they are not approvals issued by a central standards body. Publication, a repository status, or one implementation does not by itself establish ecosystem agreement or activate a consensus change.

3
deployment

Consensus proposals require independent review, compatible node implementations, testing, and sufficient ecosystem coordination before any scheduled activation. Application-level standards may be adopted incrementally without a network-wide upgrade.
